Animal Action

In the scene where the policemen on horseback chase down protestors, production and the AHA checked the area for hazards. All horseback riders were stunt riders or experienced actors who were skilled at riding, mounting and dismounting. All running/galloping scenes were well choreographed, and actors used caution while on and near animals. All horses were ridden by wranglers dressed as policemen, the horses were kept under a large tent with fans to keep them cool. And all horses had rubber horseshoes for galloping scenes on the street.
In the scene where the policeman rides on a horse and chases down a protestor and whips him as he rides, the wrangler was dressed as a policeman. The smoke and smoke bombs were non-toxic and the horses were prepped for the atmosphere. The wrangler was also prepped on how to use the whip so it wouldn’t retract and hurt the horse.
