Get Hard (2015)
Animal Action

In the scene where the actor sets up a scenario of a prison riot with a baboon and a chicken in an enclosed area, prior to bringing baboons to set a walk thru of the area was done with 1st AD, trainers, and the AHA to check for safety. Production and trainers filmed each animal and the behaviors that they were trained to do, then moved onto the next baboon, filming each one separately. Two trainers were off camera at all times.
In the same scene where you see a rooster in the background, actors rehearsed without roosters, and, safe areas were designated where the roosters would be located. Roosters were calm and conditioned to being with each other. When roosters were tossed into the frame, the distances were 3-5 feet, and all roosters had full wings to flap and assist with landing. In scenes where roosters appeared on marks, the roosters were placed on mark with scratch grains and naturally stayed in position. In the same scene, where we see chickens, production used a ball launcher and hallow balls to shoot the back of the actor during filming. None of the balls came near the chickens. All three chickens were placed in different places throughout the room with scratch grains to eat.
Due to late notification and/or limited resources, American Humane Association did not monitor any of the dog action.
