Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1992)
Animal Action

Animal action is minimal. In an opening scene Buffy is having one of her dreams in which she is slaying vampires, as someone else, in a time long ago. While in pursuit of one of the vampires she jumps out of a window and supposedly falls onto a horse in the street below, knocking him down. This scene was shot in cuts. Buffy is seen jumping out of a window. Then Buffy and the horse are seen lying in the street. This was accomplished by the horse merely doing a lay down, with Buffy laying beside him. In one scene when Buffy is called into the principal’s office, she is preoccupied with a buzzing fly. She takes a stick pin from the desk, places it in her mouth and spits it out, pinning the fly to the wall. This too, was shot in cuts. We never see the fly buzzing about. It was a fake rubber fly that was pierced with the pin and stuck to the wall. In another scene Merrick, the head vampire, picks up a cat an carries it off into another room.
