Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2025)

In the scene where the dog sits with the family in a campsite, dog was walked to set on leash by the trainers. The set was a campsite in a fake forest constructed within a studio stage. The trainer cued the dog to lie on the grass between the two actors using hand and vocal gestures then stood off camera, within eyesight.

In the scene where a helicopter ascends and the dog is in his dog bed and reacts, trainers brought dog to set and trained him to get into bed when asked him to lie down. On action, the trainer cued dog to look up, as if reacting to the helicopter. The helicopter and the dog were never really in the same scene.

When the actors in the basement see a rat scurry off on a ledge, the rat was carried to set by the trainer in a box. The trainer brought the rat in the box and a piece of grain was placed at one end of a ledge. When the camera was ready, the trainer placed the rat at the opposite end of the ledge. The trainer then placed a small piece of grain on the ledge and placed the rat beside it. Once the rat ate the grain, the handler activated the buzzer in the catch box. The rat scurried along the ledge to the box. The handler behind the box quietly closed the box. To reset the trainer stepped in and took the rat out of the catch box and placed a fresh piece of grain in the catch box. Once the shot the shot was done, the rat was placed back into his carry box.

In the scene where the actors sit on a couch in the living room and we see the dog in the little bed on the side, trainers brought dog to set and placed him in bed. On action, the trainer cued dog to stay in bed.
