In the scene where birds fly from their cages, trainers prepped the scene by removing the bottom of the cages, the trainers held the birds under the cages. On action, the birds were released from cages and the handheld pigeons were gently tossed into the air flying away and home to the South east to Flat Rock Michigan about 27 miles away.
